What we process
We process the public URL you submit, technical request data such as IP address and user agent, the copied website files, export status, payment status, download-request activity, and an email address when you provide one at the preview step or at checkout.
Why we process it
We use this information to create and secure exports, show previews, prevent abuse, process payment, unlock downloads, send recovery links, send follow-up emails about an export you started, diagnose failures, and meet legal obligations.
Website content
Export files can contain public content from the submitted website. Unpaid previews and archives are scheduled for deletion after 48 hours. If you open checkout, we retain them while that payment session remains valid and briefly afterward to process confirmation. After payment, the preview is hidden and scheduled for deletion after two hours. The paid ZIP and recovery access expire after 90 days, with a short storage lifecycle buffer for reliable cleanup.
Payments and email
Stripe processes payment details; we receive transaction identifiers and status rather than full card numbers. Resend processes email delivery. Stripe and Resend handle that data under their own privacy policies. If you enter your email at the preview step, we use it to send you a reminder about your export and occasionally other emails, such as discount codes. Every email has a link to stop them.
Security and abuse prevention
We use access tokens, request limits, network destination controls, isolated preview hosting, and service logs to protect users and infrastructure. No internet service can promise absolute security.
Builder Lens Chrome extension
Builder Lens reads the current tab address and limited public page markers only after you open the extension. It uses that information on your device solely to identify the website builder. The page markers and detection result are not retained or transmitted. Builder Lens does not access cookies or form data, keep a browsing history, or run analytics. If you choose the download action, Builder Lens opens ExportYourSite over HTTPS and makes the current public URL available to ExportYourSite in your browser so it can prefill the export form. Builder Lens does not otherwise share extension data with ExportYourSite or any third party. The use of information received from Google APIs by Builder Lens will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Website builder detector
The public "what is this website built with" page fetches the URL you submit on our servers to read public HTML markers and identify one of the twelve supported builders. We use that request to return the detection result and to prevent abuse. The page does not create an export job by itself.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand visits and measure exports, previews, checkout starts, and purchases. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes browser and device information. Our analytics events include cleaned page paths and, for purchases, an order identifier, amount, and currency. We do not intentionally send submitted website addresses, email addresses, recovery links, or access tokens to Google Analytics. Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled in our integration. You can block analytics through your browser settings or a tracking blocker. Sharing
We share data with infrastructure, payment, email, security, and analytics providers to operate and understand usage of the service. We do not sell personal information.
Your choices
You can avoid providing a recovery email, although checkout providers may still require contact details. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict personal data.
